When I say 'coming up' I mean September tenth by the way Okay, I have never showed in Jumpers in my life. Hunters and Equitation are kind of my thing, and I've shown in that since I was 6, but a jumper show? Nope. My mare is an ex-racer. She's a sweetheart, not a stereotypical TB, although yes, she has her blonde moments. (She's a bay.) So I bought her at some top of the line Eventing Barn where she did lots of Cross Country and a bit of show jumping, but never Hunters. My goal was to turn her into a Hunter. We've done our fair share of shows, but her main issue is, she goes too fast. For the longest time I've gotten extremely frustrated because of that, and now I'm putting it to 'good' use. A jumper show! First, I am not going to push her in any way. I will let her go her normal pace, that scares me enough Second, I really dunno what division to show at. There's a 2'-2'3" division, but I'm afraid she'll just run right over them, and then there's a 2'3"-2'6", which I know we can do, but that would be the highest we've done at a show. <--Show key word there. My horse and I have jumped 3'9" at home. And third, attire. Do I just wear a polo to a jumper show? And I've heard colored saddle pads with polo wraps is fine? I have a tropical blue colored polo shirt, and my mom is offering to buy me bell boots, polo wraps and a new saddle pad. What should I do with colors and stuff?

I'd just go with the classic and don't risk anything! When I show in the jumpers at AA's I wear the same thing I'd wear in the EQ or Hunters, basically. I strap on some open front eskadrons for the jumpers and EQ, though. If it's not a rated show, go ahead and wear a polo, but stick to black, navy, white, or maybe dark purple/red/green or your barn colors. White breeches or tan are the most acceptable, but a lot I've been seeing people wearing grey ones around here. I find the match your saddle pad to polos to polo shirt, so sos sososososososoosoo tacky. I cannot even express how unprofessional I think it looks. It's okay on the pony kids and pony club kids, but for anything else, once you're over 12 years old, it's tacky. Stick with either a fitted pad that you'd use in the hunters, or a white saddle pad. Instead of spending the money on new matching colors, spend what you would spend on that on your show fees! hahaaa. How high did you all show in the hunters? When I switched over to jumpers, I'd already been doing the children's hunters and the ponies, and I had jumped up to 4ft, so I went right into the low childrens which is 3'3".
