This is a suggestion for you guys to think about and I would like to hear your opinions and any ideas you might have. I was thinking, since there is a pretty wide range of ratings a horse can have, a horse with a rating of 4 has little chance of winning against a horse with an 8 in one disipline. How would you guys like classes for horses with a rating under 5 and a rating over 5? I think it would be more fair. Like for example:
Jumping: 4 Dressage: 5 Cross Country: 6
This horse could enter in Jumping (under 5), Dressage (5 and over) and cross country (5 and over).
What do you think?? Or can you think of a better way of doing it?

Or would this make judging harder, since the Under 5 class would probably be fairly small since the lowest scores are typically no less then 4. And then suddenly 6 would also be considered a low score?

maybe the ratings the horses have should be their "prospect" but all horses need to work their way up from the bottom. for example a horse with 5 5 5 and a horse with 6 7 6 could be competing but the horse with 5 5 5 could win that class because the horse with a 6 7 6 hasn't been showing as long and while the horse with a 6 7 6 will move up to higher classes and eventually place well the horse with a 5 5 5 would be "best" in the beginner shows and might end up being sold as a "beginners horse" to new players increasing their chances to beat the players who have higher rated horses in the lower level shows?
did that make any sense? i think i started getting confused towards the end.. haha.

We could divide between a Stallion's Class, Imported Class, and Working Hunter's class, because Imported tends to have a higher rating, as do Stallions, then the regular non-imported horses in the hunters. OR we could do something like choosing the fence level, like under 3' and over 3' so that better jumpers and riders could enter the over 3' and then the ones that are lower could choice whether they want to take a gamble in the over 3' or play it safe in the under 3'.
