Sorry for another suggestion, but I reread the rules and it says you pick the horse's skills 'randomly'. This does make it fair, but I think breeds should be taken into consideration too. I don't think a Thoroughbred should normally be as skilled at dressage than a Dutch Warmblood, but the TB may be higher in the Cross Country or Jumping skills because of speed.
Sorry if this is how you do it now, just a random thought popped in my head.

Acually, in the rules it does say that the breed is taken into consideration. I used a Shire vs. a Thoroughbred as an example and said that a Thoroughbred would get a better jumping score than a Shire would. I hope that answers your question. Cheyenne
